The auto technician directory was created with the professional automotive technician in mind. Why? Well… would you want anything less than a professional working on your vehicle?
After several months of development and planning, the Directory is ready for automotive technicians to begin registering. Of course, they have to take the free qualification test first to be eligible, but any seasoned professional will find the test both challenging and fair.
Test? What Test?
Our pre-qualification testing is based mainly on diagnosis of different areas, not “parts changing procedures” or system identification trivia like many other traditional tests have. Those who can diagnose and make a good living doing it are good thinkers, and good thinkers make up the best of the best in any industry. There are many of what the auto repair industry calls “a parts changer”, but only a small percentage of good part changers develop into very good diagnostic thinkers. What’s Different About This Directory?
This is not a typical “shop finder” type directory. In fact, as of this post, there is no other directory online doing what this one does for technicians and consumers.
Main directory features:
- Techs have to pass a rather difficult online test before they can become a member
- Techs can detail their experience levels and specialties
- Categorized by type of repair shop (dealer, independent, etc.)
- Detail what specific makes they can service
- Detail what symptoms they know how to fix
- List their certifications
- List their work location and contact info (optional)
- Customers can register free and leave feedback and rate each tech from 1 to 5 stars
