A new eBay Advertising survey found that 63 percent of respondents are either ‘extremely likely’ or ‘likely’ to purchase a vehicle online in the future.

GM played down the possibility of large-scale factory closures in Germany and Britain following any deal to sell its European brands to PSA, according to officials in both countries.

German Economy Minister Brigitte Zypries expects a deal between PSA and GM’s Opel unit. German officials had held talks with senior managers in the two companies, she said.

Germany expects PSA Group’s proposed acquisition of GM’s Opel/Vauxhall business to go ahead. Politicians welcomed the creation of a potential “European champion.”

British business minister Greg Clark said he had been reassured by GM that the automaker did not intend to “rationalize” its Vauxhall operations. Clark made the comments after meeting with GM to discuss its plan to sell Opel/Vauxhall to PSA Group.
