Job Description
Nationwide franchised automotive repair shop has an immediate opening for a skilled and experienced technician, with exceptional diagnostic skills. There is also a great potential for career advancement. Reporting to the Shop Manager, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in accordance with industry and brand standards.
***No Sundays***
Technical Responsibilities:
* Perform work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with industry and brand standards
* Diagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions, and recommend/perform appropriate repairs
* Communicate with the Shop Manager to obtain needed parts
* Notify Shop Manager immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised
* Clearly and accurately document all work performed
* Road test vehicles as required *Attend and successfully complete technician training as required by Shop Manager
* Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes
* Follow all shop safety rules and industry safety practices Skills and experience:
* Must have prior automotive technician/mechanic experience
* Ability to read and comprehend complex technical information
* Good analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
* Manual dexterity (including but not limited to ability to stand, reach, squat, and lift for most of the work day)
* Competitive pay plan with commission
* ASE Certification a big plus
* Bilingual (English/Spanish) also a plus
