Getting Paid for Your Knowledge

By now, you’ve probably already heard the buzz about QwikTalk but don’t know much about it. Not only will you learn about it here from the Founder himself, Josh Breinlinger, but also the HUGE boost awaiting the AutoTechnician.org members and community. By the way, this is not a sales pitch. There’s nothing to buy so please read all the way through.

AutoTechnician.org has been given an exclusive opportunity to become the premier technical information provider in the QwikTalk network. So if you’re always looking for ways to find new business leads or ways to supplement your income, you really need to read this though and act. It costs you nothing at all but a little bit of time. In fact, you can get paid for your time!

Josh Breinlinger, the founder of QwikTalk found AutoTechnician.org and was quite impressed with the level of experience AutoTechnician.org members have and our unique voluntary testing prerequisite. Josh’s network connects consumers to professionals by offering them a pay-per-call service that can drive more business into your shop. l’ll let Josh explain in his words below what’s in it for you but I want you to know first-hand that I believe there is great potential for shop owners and techs with this program he launched recently, especially seeing the rapid growth and popularity it has undertaken recently!

By Josh Breinlinger:  Attention Auto Techs! Lend a Helping Hand with QwikTalk

Let me guess – there are dozens of friends and family members that give you a call anytime something is wrong with their car. Of course you’re always happy to help out friends in need, but what about the rest of the world that doesn’t have a master level technician as a good friend? Where will they turn when they need to call a mechanic?

John and I talked last week and he’s graciously allowed me to reach out to some of you with a new proposal as well as some questions. I’ve been impressed with the level of quality and adherence to a strict set of standards that John has fostered here.

Now, I want to talk with you a little bit about sales and marketing and how I believe you can benefit from it.

Let me give you my perspective from an untrained buyer. When my car breaks down, I search a little bit online in some of the automotive forums, but nothing quite answers my questions. And I don’t really want to post my question in the forums because I have to register and give all my info – it just takes too long and is too much effort to get an answer. Then, if I determine that I need professional help, I might look at some directories online such as AutoTechnician.org, but that doesn’t necessarily answer my questions. So, I ask a friend for a recommendation, and they might know of a shop that they’ve used before so they send me there. I bring my car in, and 9 times out of 10, will just go ahead with the quoted repair estimates once I get them. And as long as things were handled professionally and came in around the estimated cost, I’ll keep bringing my car back. Let me know if this is how you see things working in the market?

The reality is, consumers have a lot of loyalty to good shops, because it’s hard to establish a new relationship. We’re trying to make it easier to establish those new relationships with QwikTalk. We launched the service a couple months ago to help consumers quickly and easily connect with a certified mechanic to get answers to their questions. The important part is that it’s all on the phone. And as an expert, you just receive text messages when questions come in – if you’re free and would like to answer the question – just call in. If not, just ignore it. Once a good relationship is established, you can be sure that the consumer will feel comfortable asking you more questions (for a fee) or bringing their car into you for repairs.

John and I believe that the combination of a great community like you have here along with an easy way to connect the consumer with the expert – should result in more business for everyone involved. I’d like to hear what you think of the service and invite the members of AutoTechnician.org’s directoy to participate as experts.

And the important question that we have for you is about the future of the business. Would you rather:

a) Make $7 per call, but have fewer calls
b) Take calls for free, but have more opportunities for local leads in the same area code.

Look forward to hearing from you.

  1. Thanks John! The response has been great so far and we’ve added several qualified mechanics to the network. We’ve also modified our system so any calls are routed to local mechanics whenever possible.
